The Best Self Emptying Robot Vacuum
The best self emptying robot vacuum has a base that holds one month's worth of debris and empties automatically. It also creates a detailed map of your home, allowing you to label rooms as well as create "no-go" zones.
It has superior obstacle-avoiding abilities, too, so it is safe from power cords and rogue socks.
Roomba s9+ from iRobot
This is a premium model from iRobot and performs well. It is able to maneuver easily across a variety of surfaces and is highly efficient in sucking up dirt, dust and other debris. It's also well-built and looks fantastic too.
The S9 is the latest model from iRobot's premium S Series robot vacuum. It comes with a number of additional features that help it different from other models. The iRobot App can use, for instance, the camera to create a map that assists the robot to navigate and clean efficiently.
There's no need to spend time cleaning the same spots again if the battery runs out. You can also manually start cleaning sessions and stop them with the use of a simple voice command through the iRobot app. The smart vacuum can even clean in the dark!
Another excellent feature is Carpet Boost, which gives the S9 additional suction power when it encounters carpeting so it can suck up more dirt and debris. The unit also has a square front design that is more close to walls and corners as opposed to the earlier round designs. This model is not compatible well with shag or high-pile carpeting.
During our testing during our testing, we discovered that the iRobot S9+ cleans thoroughly and efficiently on a range of floor surfaces, from carpets with medium to hard piles and rug. It also performed well on tiles, vinyl, and laminate flooring. It also did a great job of maneuvering between furniture and objects although it struggled a bit with stairs, where it can crash into objects like bookcases.
We were impressed by the fact that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its dust bin once it's empty, which dramatically reduces hands-on maintenance needs. The dust bin is expected to last for around 30 loads or a month and half. You'll need to replace the filter every few months (as suggested by iRobot). Our experience suggests that the iRobot S9+ doesn't get very loud during operation which makes it a good choice for people who live with pets or children.

Robot vacuum cleaners are designed to take care of the dirty work for you, and can be used to remove carpets and hardwood floors. The best ones are controlled and monitored using apps for smartphones and some have mopping tech for bathroom and kitchen floors. They're a great solution for busy families, and are becoming more affordable than ever before. But if you want top-tech features on your robotic cleaner, you're going to need to pay a little more.

Dual motors give powerful cleaning power. The dust bin is easy to remove and empty which is great since you'll be required to do this regularly.
It's also easy to set up, although I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the first time. Install the Eufy Home application and follow the instructions to connect it to your WiFi network. The app will assist you create an outline of your home. You can name rooms and divide large spaces into smaller rooms (good for open plan living) and guide the X8 Hybrid to specific areas that require cleaning at a given time. Eufy's app is more user-friendly and refined than other robots with similar scanning and mapping functions.
The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can control the mop or vacuum by voice thanks to the integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a nice addition that makes the robot even more hands-free. It also is very effective in our test home.
Like many robotic vacuums, the X8 Hybrid has some issues with bare floors. It may miss fur and small objects and tends to bump things like its charger on the charging platform. It's also not as quiet as some other models we've tested, and the whirring noise could be distracting.
Roborock V3S Pro
This model isn't as feature-rich as some of the more expensive models we evaluated, but it has all the essentials. It has a huge dust bin that can hold a lot of dirt prior to needing to be empty. The vacuum and mop system is ideal for carpets with hard floors as well as carpets with low pile. It's also extremely quiet. We were able to watch TV while it cleaned without feeling as though we were being overwhelmed by noise.
Our test participants were extremely pleased with how easy the machine was to use and set up. They also loved its ability to eliminate all the messes that had accumulated on their floors. It also did a good job at removing pet hair and other messes that get on carpeting, but it wasn't as successful in tackling stubborn stuck-on stains. The app was easy to use and intuitive. It was able to set up the vacuum to clean frequently to cut down on manual work. The one downside is that it does not have any mapping technology or object avoidance technology, so you can't send it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips are compatible).
The V3S Pro is another model from the iRobot's budget line. It comes with several impressive features for an affordable price. It was the top robot vacuum we tested for mapping and avoiding obstacles. It's also the best budget choice for those who want a more intelligent, self-emptying robot vacuum that is able to handle pet messes and hair on hardwood floors or low-pile carpeting. It's also extremely quiet and has a huge dust bin that holds lots of debris before it's time to empty it so you don't need to worry about constantly emptying it.
The V3S Pro did not make it into our top choice lists from trusted sources who test hands-on, but it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. The V3S Pro was easy to use and set up, but the battery life was a bit short.
Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is a solid low-cost robot vacuum and mop that doesn't skimp on features or cost. You can avail many of the top features, such as smart navigation and mapping, without paying top dollar. You can even use voice commands via Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple Siri shortcuts to create custom automations and begin cleaning remotely while you're away.
Roborock spent a lot of time designing this smart cleaner. The result is that the product is exceptionally solid and feels like it was constructed from premium materials. The base is strong and sturdy, with an integrated charging port for the battery. There's a docking station for the clean-water tank as well as dirty-water bins on top. Below, you'll find an enclosure that houses the vacuum bag that is sealed.
After pairing your device with the application, you will see a 3D and 2D map of your home that shows you the location of your robot at any time and the area it is cleaning. You can also set up virtual barriers to ensure that the robot isn't in certain areas and make sure it's only cleaning specific types of floors. It can also adjust its power settings based on the kind of here floor being cleaned and choose the most effective cleaning method.
In contrast to other robot vacuums like the Q Revo, it can lift both mop heads while vacuuming to prevent staining your carpet fibres. In fact, it's the few vacuums on market that can do this.
When it comes to mopping, the Q Revo's 5500Pa suction capabilities can be enough to take out specks of dust, strands of pet hair, and other debris. The all-rubber brush can be used to break up animal and human hair as it adapts to uneven surfaces.
Its only downside is that it takes some time to fill and empty the clean and dirty water tanks. You can reduce the frequency of this by using the auto-empty function which will empty the bin automatically after a couple of days. There is no automatic reminder to check the level of water in the dock.
